Exercise needs and dietvary greatly from breed to breed, as does personality, boisterousness, loudness, and so onWhether or not children are present and whether the dog is able to stand a little rough and tumbleA toy dog’s tiny bones may break if handled roughly, whereas a Labrador Retriever will adapt well to a young family.

All breeds have their traitsMany have been either ‘man-made’, such as the British Bulldog, or reared for a purpose, such as the Rotweiller for herding over long distancesWithin these breeds are individual personalities and dogs with backgrounds and stories to tellSome may not be left alone, whilst others manage for short periodsSome dogs do not mix well, whilst others are born socialites.
